Canton Concert Band

The Canton Concert Band began in June, 2004, with 8 members, rehearsing at the Cherry Hill Village School. Now, as the resident concert band of the Village Theater at Cherry Hill, they have nearly 60 members. They are a group of volunteers from various backgrounds, and from all over the Metro Detroit area. Their experience levels range from novice players to professional musicians. All are welcome. We especially need oboe, bassoon, tuba, lower brass, and percussion. There are NO auditions!

Rehearsing every Thursday night at 7 pm in the Biltmore Studio at the Village Theater, the Canton Concert Band performs two concerts a year at the theater, and at numerous other functions throughout the community.

Participating in the band has been a great way to meet new friends, as well as pursue their mutual love of music.

Interested in playing?

Visit their websiteFacebook page, or email their director, Jim Blough.

Spotlight On Youth

Spotlight on Youth (SOY) exists to create an extraordinary youth centered theater experience and to advance theater as a means of educating, challenging and inspiring young people.

SOY seeks to become a model for excellence in theater, striving to lead in quality productions for young people, in theater training, and in generating opportunities for using theater in education and community development. We seek to create a cultural center for youth and families, where programs and activities will celebrate diverse art forms, ideas and cultures.

SOY is open to ALL youth age 5 and above - no experience required.

Join the fun of SOY by auditioning for a show or enrolling in a summer theater camp - SOY "casts" all youth that audition and finds a meaningful role for each youth in the show. Camp - limited enrollment - all are welcome!
